“Post Bifurcation also

People’s Struggles will Continue”

CPI(M) Polit Bureau member and AP state committee secretary B V Raghavulu said an important chapter in the history of Telugu people is ending with the passing of AP Reorgansiation Bill 2013 in Lok Sabha. The opportunity for Telugu people to develop unitedly as a nationality has ended abruptly due to the failures and opportunism of the ruling classes.

Speaking to reporters after the bill was passed on 18th February, the CPI(M) leader pointed out that the creation of separate state of Telangana has raised immense hopes among the people of that region while at the same time creating many apprehensions among people of Seemandhra region. The very same ruling classes that have failed to comprehensively develop the united state are set to rule in both the states. They would be implementing the same neo-liberal, World Bank-dictated policies. These policies will create new inequalities in both the states. People’s problems will not be solved. The workers, agricultural labourers, small and marginal farmers, urban poor, dalits, tribals, minorities, artisans, women etc will have to fight for redressal of their problems.

Raghavulu asserted that the CPI(M) will stand for the interests of working people of both the states. It will defend the democratic rights and fight for comprehensive development of both the states. The Party will also strive to remove the misunderstandings/aprehensions created by the ruling classes among the people in the last three years. It will help foster amity and good relations among people. It will also help in forging greater unity among Left and democratic forces in the cause of people’s welfare and social justice.
