Protest
Demo against Rail Fare Hike
OPPOSING strongly
the rail fare hike, CPI(M)
organised a protest demonstration at Bhubaneswar Railway
Station on January 11,
2013 . The CPI(M) cadres marched in a procession inside the
Railway Station and staged a
demonstration before the Station Manager’s Office. The
CPI(M) leaders demanded
immediate withdrawal of the fare hikes in all categories
of passengers except
the top two classes, AC–I and AC–II . The Party leaders
also said the decision
of the railway ministry is not only anti-people, but also
unconstitutional. The
anti-people decision which will further burden the common
people cannot be
accepted. More and more people must be organised against
this policy of the UPA
government in the coming days. The demonstration was led
by CPI(M) state
secretariat member and Bhubaneswar district secretary
Suresh Panigrahy
including the local committee secretary Prabhat Panigrahy,
Tribal leader Sala
Marandi, Basti Basinda Mohasabha joint Secretary Anjan
Nath, SFI leader Sachin
Sundar Nayak and many other leaders participated. Hundreds
of common people
participated at the meeting place.
