AIPSO
Calls for Protest Action
Against
Israeli Attack on Gaza
The
following is the press
statement issued by AIPSO on November 21:
THE All
India Peace and Solidarity
Organisation (AIPSO) condemns the Israeli attack on Gaza.
More than hundred Palestinians
including women and children are killed in this attack
and above 150 injured.
The figures are of course, continuously mounting. This
is an atrocity which has
added to a whole series of violations of International
Law and human rights by Israel.
Gaza
is a small strip of Palestinian territory separated
from the rest of Palestine
by Israel.
This small land mass is
subjected to the most inhuman blockade by Israel
and is denied of even basic
human needs like water. Israel
controls everything that needs to pass to Gaza
and hence the people living in Gaza
are deprived of medicines, electricity and food. Not
satisfied with this
cruelty it perpetuates on Gaza,
Israel
had now
launched another of its military attack. Already news
is emanating that
hospitals in Gaza
are running out of medicines and other vital
necessities to even treat the
injured. This is nothing but open war of aggression on
Palestine
and violation of all international
laws and conventions.
The AIPSO
condemns the barbarity
committed by Israel
and calls upon all the peace loving people of our
country to join and come out
in protest. The government of India
should immediately demand the UN to intervene and
initiate measures to contain Israel.
At the
same time, we express our
solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinian people
for liberation from the
Israeli occupation and the establishing of an
independent Palestinian
State within
the 1967 borders and with
East Jerusalem as its
capital. The peace
movement in India
remains steadfast on the side of the just goals of the
Palestinian people.
The AIPSO
also urges all its units
to protest these dastardly attacks and also appeals
all forces, groups and
individuals who believe in just peace to raise their
voice in solidarity with
the Palestinian people in this hour of crisis.
The AIPSO
also strongly urges the
Indian government to condemn these inhuman acts in Gaza
and sever its military ties with Israel
and stop buying arms from
the Israeli defence industry.
