Tripura: NLFT Decided to Help
Congress-INPT THE
news recently coming from the other side of
Indo-Bangladesh border reveals that
a meeting of the NLFT top brass was held at Ananda
Chandi Roaja Para under
Panchhari police station of Khagrachhari
district
of Bangladesh on September 25, 2012. The secret
meeting presided over
by hardcore NLFT extremist Upendra Reang, was
attended by some 30 so called
‘tested’ and ‘loyal’ extremists. The
meeting worked out a plan of action aiming to unseat
the Left Front government
in Tripura and help the Congress-INPT alliance come
to power in the next assembly
election to be held in February 2013. As a part of
their plan of action,
according to the directives given from that meeting,
they would carry on
several subversive actions in the state in the month
of October and November in
order to break the prevalent peaceful atmosphere and
destabilise the state government.
It also decided that some top GMP leaders must be
kidnapped so as to shaken the
CPI(M)’s strong position in the tribal areas,
especially in the tribal reserved
seats. The
news vindicates the apprehension of peace-loving
democratic-minded people of
Tripura and corroborates the confessionary statement
of surrendered NLFT
extremist Dhanu Kalai who the police had caught red
handed when he was carrying
huge funds meant for the NLFT base in It
must be mentioned here that on June 16 last, Dhanu
Kalai was caught by police
after a vehicular chase at Jirania. Rupees 25 lakh
in cash was seized from his
possession. On being quizzed by the police, he
divulged that the fund was the
fourth instalment and that three instalments had
already been passed off to
NLFT earlier. He also told the police that a tribal
Congress leader, Debabrata
Kalai, was the mastermind behind all this fund
transfer and recruitment of tribal
youth for the NLFT who were facing serious shortages
of men. A startling fact
Dhanu Kalai divulged to the police was that the NLFT
had hatched a conspiracy
to destabilise the Left Front government through
subversive actions and help
the opposition Congress-INPT alliance in the state.
Conspicuously, instead of condemning
their dubious deal with anti-national outfits and
taking action against the
alleged leader, the state Congress is out to cover
up its nexus with the outlawed
NLFT. But
the government as well as the people of the state
are very much aware of the
foul game of the opposition in league with the
extremists, and are determined to
frustrate all attempts of the anti-national elements
inside and outside the
state.
