HARYANA

State Govt must Come Clean in DLF-Vadra Affair

THE Haryana state unit of the CPI(M) has expressed its opinion that a high level inquiry is necessary in view of the serious allegations of active involvement of Haryana government in the suspected dubious business affairs between Robert Vadra and the DLF company. In a press note issued from Rohtak on October 10, the CPI(M)’s state secretary Inderjit Singh also reminded that last year too the CPI(M) had levelled similar allegations of arbitrary misuse of sections of the Land Acquisition Act by Haryana government in the past, in order to hand over prime lands to the favoured individuals and companies.

The party has described the Congress leaders’ demands for proof as most ridiculous, saying that the Punjab and Haryana High Court as well as the Supreme Court has struck down several land acquisition cases and passing serious strictures against the state government. Therefore, these rulings form enough ground for holding a high level probe for exposing and punishing all those who are guilty of appropriating prime lands of the farmers and the state.

The CPI(M) has further asked the chief minister to come out with a clear position, as an evasive attitude will not work because of the gravity of the charges and amount of assets squandered away by the unholy nexus involved over the years in Gurgaon and Faridabad. Crucially, one of the parts of this nexus is the Haryana government as it is one of the three actors of these land acquisitions, besides the DLF and the companies floated by Robert Vadra.
