Nazeer Abbasi’s
Martyrdom Day Being Observed ON
August 9, while
observing the 32nd anniversary of Shaheed Nazeer
Abbasi’s martyrdom, the
Communist Party of Pakistan (CPP)
demanded suo moto action from the chief justice
of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, for
a reopening of the Nazeer Abbasi murder case. That
justice demanded that
Brigadier Imtiaz Billa must be hanged in public, was
categorically stated by CPP
chairman, Engineer Jameel Ahmad Malik, while
addressing the party workers on
the 32nd anniversary of Abbasi’s martyrdom. He
said Shaheed Abbasi was
a true communist revolutionary who sacrificed his life
for a socialist revolution

CPP also demanded from
the PPP government and the ANP government of
Pakhtoonkhwa province to
immediately register an FIR against Brigadier Imtiaz
Billa who was responsible
for the extra judicial killing of this young and
energetic leader of the CPP. Engineer
Jameel Malik also
recalled that an investigation was initiated against
Brigadier Imtiaz during the
tenure of Benazir Bhutto’s government but then the
probe was put on the
backburner when that government was toppled. Begum
Hamida Ghangro, the
widow of Nazir Abbasi, pointed out that several
government officials had earlier
accepted that Nazir Abbasi was killed during custody. “Our
party has all the
documentary proofs,” the CPP chairman maintained while
demanding that the
government must immediately arrest and try the said
brigadier. He told the party workers that
while Nazir Abbasi, a courageous and
bold Sindhi student leader was done to death by the
brutal Inter Services
Intelligence (ISI) during Zia-ul Haq’s tenure, the
likes of Billa in the ISI continue
