congratulates the party unit in Himachal Pradesh for the
historic win in the
direct elections to the posts of mayor and deputy mayor of
Shimla.
The Polit Bureau of
the CPI(M)
salutes the people of Shimla for reposing their faith in the
CPI(M) candidates
in the first ever direct election. Sanjay Chauhan has been
elected as mayor
with a margin of 7868 votes over the nearest BJP candidate and
Tikkindar Panwar
has been elected as deputy mayor with a margin of 4778 votes
over the nearest
BJP candidate and defeating the Congress candidates.
