Message of
Greetings from the Communist Party of Bangladesh
THE Communist
Party of
Bangladesh (CPB) conveys its warm revolutionary greeting to the
Communist Party
of India (Marxist) and the delegates to its 20th congress scheduled to
be held
from April 4 to 9, 2012 in Kozhikode,
Kerala.
We
take pride to recall that the CPI(M) and the CPB are two parties which
were born and grew up in its earliest years as parts of the same
undivided party
during the days of the British raj, and have the same history and
heritage of
those days. The partition of India
in 1947 necessitated the formation of CPB as an independent and
separate party.
However, over the last decades, in spite of being two independent
parties, we
have stood beside each other with untarnished bond of revolutionary
fraternity
and uninterrupted mutual cooperation. We particularly recall the
invaluable
help rendered by the CPI(M) to our liberation war of 1971.
The
20th congress of the CPI(M) is going to be held at a time when
communist
and the Left and democratic forces of both India
and Bangladesh
are facing the danger of religious fundamentalism and communalism,
cross-border
terrorism and imperialist assaults. Also, poverty,
hunger, illiteracy, malnourishment,
unemployment etc are the common problems of the nations of South Asia. We are confident that your party
will be able to
successfully fight these evils and dangers and lead the nation in its
struggle
against imperialism and communalism, and thus march forward toward
peace and
progress. We would like to assure you that our party will firmly stand
by your
struggle for social emancipation of the people. In this context we
would like
to reiterate our proposal for a meeting of all communist and Marxist
parties of
South Asian countries in order to chalk out a common strategy of
fighting our
common enemy, that is, imperialism and religious communalism, and to
strengthen
the process of mutual cooperation.
In the
international
arena, imperialism, particularly US imperialism, has become
more
aggressive than before. It has the dream of recolonisation. Military
aggression
against Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya
and continuous threat against many other countries, particularly the
oil-rich
Arab countries, prove that imperialism, particularly US
imperialism, wants to go back to
the medieval period and destroy the major achievements of mankind
regarding
freedom and democracy.
People of the
world are,
however, fighting back. Armed and unarmed resistance against
imperialist
aggression all over the world is of great influence. The Occupy Wall
Street
movement on the very soil of the USA and similar movements
in other
imperialist countries are also of great importance. The struggle
against US led
imperialist aggression and occupation, against the exploitation of multinational corporations and the
machinations of World Bank, IMF, WTO etc, against the continuing
destruction of
biodiversity and stubborn refusal to take steps for preventing
environmental
calamities --- all these struggles are fast developing throughout the
world.
The global assault of capitalism and imperialism calls for a new global
coalition of all anti-imperialist forces of the world, for raising to a
qualitatively new level the unity, cohesion, cooperation and
coordination of
the struggles of these forces all over the world. The communist and
workers parties
of the world have a crucial role to play in building up this coalition
and
spearheading the struggle for peace, democracy, social and economic
emancipation.
We hope that
the CPI(M) would successfully
perform
its international task of fighting imperialism, develop solidarity with
the
struggling people throughout the world and build up the abovementioned
broader
anti-imperialist coalition. The CPB is trying to fight imperialist
intervention
in our country, ruthless exploitation by the ruling bourgeois class and
oppressive government representing the said bourgeois class, and also
against
religious fundamentalism and communalism. We are developing struggles
of the
toiling classes in order to achieve revolutionary democracy with the
socialist
perspective. The CPB, while fighting within our country against class
enemies,
is also trying to perform its international task, as a part of the
international working class.
We hope that
the CPB and the
CPI(M) would remain, as ever
before, fraternal parties with even more close understanding and
practical
cooperation, being loyal to Marxism-Leninism and proletarian
internationalism.
Wish your
congress to be
successful.
Long live the
friendship
between the CPI(M) and the
CPB!
Long live
proletarian
internationalism!~
Long live the
Communist
Party of India (Marxist)!
With
Fraternal Greetings
--- Manzurul Ahsan Khan,
president, and Mujahidul Islam Selim, General Secretary
