Contribution to Bengal Solidarity Fund

 

BY November 3, 2011, the contribution of the CPI(M) and the mass organisations in Maharashtra to the West Bengal Solidarity Fund had crossed the figure of Rs 8.50 lakh. The first instalment of Rs 6.58 lakh had been handed over in the state party class on July 24, 2011 to CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechury. The list of contributors was published in these columns. Some amounts were subsequently sent directly to the CPI(M) West Bengal state committee. The remaining amount will be handed over during the Central Committee meeting of the party. Some major contributions in the second instalment from Maharashtra are: CPI(M) Nagpur district committee – Rs 50,000; Amravati district committee – Rs 25,000; Mumbai Shramik Sangh (CITU), Bhandup – Rs 25,000; CPI(M)/CITU Aurangabad district committee – Rs 10,000; CPI(M)/CITU Pune district committee – Rs 10,000. As per the decision of the CPI(M) Maharashtra state committee, almost all districts in the state have contributed their mite to the Bengal Solidarity Fund.
