CPI(M) Extends Solidarity to CP Greece

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) sent the following message of solidarity to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece on May 13, 2010

Dear Comrades,

THE Communist Party of India (Marxist) extends its heartfelt solidarity with the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), PAME and all the struggling people of Greece. CPI(M) salutes our Greek brethren who are rising against capitalisms' further attacks on peoples' livelihood as part of the capitalist solution for emerging from the current global recession, created by the capitalist system itself, in the first place. The KKE that has a history of leading struggles against capitalist offensive, is once again championing the interests of the working people.

Capitalists would always seek to come out of the crisis by putting greater burdens on the shoulders of the working people. The 'rescue' package announced by the EU is nothing but another such effort by the capitalists. The only way out, as we have all concluded at the 11^th International meeting of the Communist and Workers' Parties is to launch broad struggles for the rights of the people and against the capitalist system. The KKE is in the midst of such a struggle.

The CPI (M) salutes the heroic struggles led by the KKE and PAME which are witnessing massive participation from the working class and broad sections of the people of Greece. Taking this opportunity, we once again reiterate our solidarity with your party, all the comrades who are braving severe hardships and leading the struggle and above all with the struggling people of Greece.

We sincerely wish you all success in your struggle and believe that it would go a long way in not only easing the burdens of the toiling people but also in the fight against capitalism and strengthening the struggle for socialism.
