CPI(M) Greets Chinese Revolution�s 60th Anniversary

On September 28, 2009, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) sent the following message of greetings to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on the 60th anniversary of the glorious Chinese Revolution that achieved its success on October 1, 1949.

THE Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) conveys its warm greetings and best wishes to the Communist Party of China on the occasion of the sixtieth anniversary of the foundation of the People's Republic of China.

The victory of the Chinese Revolution was an epoch making event. After centuries of semi-colonial exploitation, the people of China were emancipated after an arduous struggle against feudalism, imperialism and fascist occupation.

This revolution had immense significance for people all over the world who were struggling against colonialism and imperialism.

China embarked upon the path to become a modern socialist developed country under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. In the six decades traversed since 1949, the Chinese government and people have accomplished much. Remarkable progress has been made by China in developing the economy, in eliminating poverty and raising the living standards of the people. China is today a major economic power which is making a significant contribution towards the reshaping of the international economic order.

India and China are two major Asian countries who are neighbours. As the two most populous countries in the world, the relations and cooperation between China and India will be a major factor in ensuring global peace and prosperity. The friendship and cooperation between the two countries need to be further developed overcoming the obstacles of history.

On this historic anniversary, we send you our warm felicitations and wish you all success in your endeavours for the all round development of China as a prosperous socialist country.
