CPI(M) Pays Homage To Comrade Almeida

THE Communist Party of India (Marxist) pays its homage to Comrade Juan Almeida Bosque, vice president of the State Council of the Republic of Cuba and the Commander of Revolution.

Comrade Almeida Bosque was a veteran revolutionary fighter who fought alongside Fidel Castro, Che Guevara and others in the Cuban revolutionary struggle. He was an exemplary revolutionary who led a simple life. Comrade Almeida spent more than half a century of his life, consistently standing in the forefront in the struggle against imperialism and for defending the rights of the people. He defended and stood for the principles of justice, equality and altruism, the very principles that Cuba is today identified with throughout the world. He also contributed immensely to the �battle of ideas� as a man of letters through his literary works.

The death of Comrade Almeida is not only a great loss to Cuba and Cuban people but also to all the peace loving people of the world and the communist movement.

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) pays its respects to the departed leader and conveys its deepest sympathies to the Cuban people and his family members.
