Yechury Nominated To

JNU’s Court Of University

SITARAM Yechury, who was elected as president of Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNUSU) immediately after the Emergency, has now been nominated to the same university’s highest decision making body, the Court of University.

The chairman of Rajya Sabha has nominated Yechury as a member of the this body for a term of three years from May 4, 2009. The Registrar of the university in a communication to Yechury has stated that the university looks forward to his help and guidance as a member of the Court of University.

It may be recalled Yechury after his stint as JNUSU president later on became all India president of SFI. He is presently Polit Bureau member of the CPI(M) and member of Rajya Sabha.
