CPI(M) Appeals For Peace In Punjab

 

THE state secretariat of the Punjab state committee of CPI(M) has strongly condemned the dastardly attack by fundamentalists and extremists on two saints belonging to Dera Sach Khand Ballan (Jalandhar) at Vienna in Austria. Apart from the two saints, many other individuals sustained serious injuries in the attack by gunmen.

 
Charan Singh Virdi, acting secretary, Punjab state committee of CPI(M) in a statement conveyed that the state secretariat expressed deep concern on the incidents of violence and arson in Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Phagwara and some cities in Punjab in response to the attack in Vienna.

 
The state secretariat has appealed to all the peace loving people of Punjab to maintain peace and communal harmony in the state and to foil the heinous designs of the extremists aimed at engineering communal discord.

 
It has also urged upon the state government to take all necessary steps to maintain law and order and communal harmony in the state.
