Joint Campaign Draws Good Response In Andhra

THE first joint campaign by TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu and CPI(M) state secretary B V Raghavulu in Khammam district received an overwhelming response from masses and well-wishers. They stood in scorching heat to greet the leaders and welcomed them with thunderous slogans and whistles.

The leaders toured the Madhira assembly constituency in the district from which CPI(M) is contesting. Speaking on the occasion, Chandrababu Naidu said that the public response clearly showed that CPI(M) will definitely bag the seat of Madhira in the coming elections. He also ridiculed the ways and means adopted by the Congress party to lure voters. A few days ago, Congress partys star campaigners who organised a big rally in the district, distributed Biryani packets, Rs 200 in cash and a bottle of liquor. Despite that they received luke warm response from the people. This only shows that Congress party has lost its winning chances, said Babu. He claimed that the coming together of TDP, CPI(M), CPI and TRS has rattled Y S Rajashekara Reddy, who in his tenure looted public assets indiscriminately and is now trying to hide them. Naidu called upon the people to defeat the most corrupt leader  in the country.

B V Raghavulu in his speech charged that Khammam district is one of the most neglected districts during the tenure of the present chief minister.  The government stalled Dummugudem Tailpond project, even as lakhs of tribal people lost their homes due to the design of Polavaram project. Seven innocent people of Mudigonda were killed in police firing for fighting for home sites. This government took steps for privatisation of Singareni Coal Mines. He attacked the Congress leaders for trivialising the election campaign by focussing on attacks on individual leaders instead of answering these questions. Raghavulu called upon the people to deliver their verdict by voting out Congress party in the elections. He felt that would be a fitting tribute to the martyrs of Mudigonda.

After the joint campaign in Madhira constituency, a big rally was held in Suryapet town in Nalogonda district. CPI general secretary, A B Bardhan, Chandrababu Naidu, B V Raghavulu and TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao, Nalgonda CPI Lok Sabha candidate S Sudhakar Reddy and other leaders addressed the huge public meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, A B Bardhan expressed dissatisfaction over Congress rule. He told that Congress is treading the path of BJP which unleashed India Shining concept and lost drastically in elections. In its tenure of five years, Congress party made many promises, but never fulfilled the four parties in Andhra Pradesh would definitely end the rule of corrupt Congress party, he said confidently.
