Comrade V C George
COMRADE V C George, working in the CPI(M) parliamentary office for the last four years, passed away on September 6, 2008 following serious ailment. He was 65 years old and is survived by wife, a son and a daughter.
Before joining parliamentary office, Comrade George was associated with the Delhi state committee of the CPI(M) as a central government employees leader working in Delhi. He actively participated in all trade union activities and programmes. Known for deep study of issues, Comrade George was given the task of helping the Legislative Bills committee of the CPI(M) parliamentary party. He was also the secretary of the CPI(M) parliamentary office unit.
CPI(M) general secretary Prakash Karat, parliamentary party leaders Sitaram Yechury, Basudev Acharia and others paid respects to the departed comrade, whose body, draped in CPI(M) flag, was kept at the CPI(M) parliamentary office in Windsor Place. Later, his body was taken to his home town in Kerala for last rites.
