DEAR Comrades, on behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Australia we extend our greetings to the Communist Party of India (Marxist) on the occasion of the 19^th Party congress.

We are inspired by your success in campaigning, both in parliament and in the mass movement, for a better life for the Indian people and for your achievement in the election of three state governments under your Party�s leadership. We support your key struggle against any nuclear deal with the United States presently being pushed by leading circles in the Congress government.

The formation of the Left Front of Left parties which has helped to bring about major successes in your mass work and parliamentary struggles is an example of the importance of cooperation on the basis of equality and is a feature today of the work of Communist Parties in a number of countries including in Australia where we are attempting to form an Alliance of Communist Organisations.

We appreciate your contribution to the International Struggle against imperialism and for peace.

We hope that in the future our parties will continue to maintain comradely and cooperative relations recognising the steadily increasing importance of Asia both in terms of economic development and in the maintenance of world peace.
