Greetings From DKP, Germany

DEAR comrades, on the occasion of your Party Congress, I bring you the cordial greetings of the members and friends of the German Communist Party. Your party enjoys high reputation. Its history is that of comrades, who struggled under different conditions consistently against colonialism and suppression and for the international cooperation of all communist and labour parties. Your contributions in the today's international debate for the analysis of imperialism and conclusions for strategy and tactics are extraordinarily important and useful for us.

The communist movement in India is laid down deeply in the masses and enjoys high reputation. For us, this is very important after the defeat of socialism in Europe. To be connected in friendship with your party, strengthens us and gives us confidence.

Dear comrades,

The German Communist Party has adopted a new program. It is present in English language, too. We ask you to read this program, give us suggestions and, where necessary, criticise it. This program shows us as a party of scientific socialism, which is committed to the revolutionary transformation of social conditions to socialism/communism. We trust in the strength of the working class in alliance with others for getting through these changes and understand our party as an internationally acting and thinking one.

This year we have a number of important anniversaries: 125 years ago Karl Marx died. 140 years ago the manifesto of the communist party came out. At the turn of the year 2008/2009 is the 90th Anniversary of the founding of the communist party in Germany and on September 27th is the 40th Anniversary of the constitution of the German Communist Party. We want to use these anniversaries to strengthen the communist profile of the German Communist Party and to develop our party as a power which helps to bundle the left forces in the Federal Republic of Germany in order to change politics in our country.

Neoliberal capitalism is responsible for martial politics, and dismantling of social rights and democracy. The German armed forces are active in many parts of this world. The official numbers of unemployment are about four millions, in reality up to seven millions. Our goal is to stop this right wing policy in alliance with other democratic forces.

In 2009, the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Democratic Republic will be celebrated. This will be the time to strike the balance of 40 years of socialism in Germany. In no way and under no circumstances we will stop to fight for a socialist future. Also therefore internationalism for the German Communist Party is necessary.

Long live international solidarity!

Long live Communist Party of India (Marxist)!

Heinz Stehr
