Greetings From The Communist Party Of Burma
DEAR Comrades, please allow us to express our warmest congratulations for the glorious Nineteenth Congress of your Party that is held at a time when the world's sole super-power is stretching out its tentacles to wrest every square inch of the world and Marxism is preparing to rise up again with vengeance. We are proud to declare at this Congress that we have been marching hands in hands with the Communist Party of India (Marxist) throughout the history and shall be doing the same in future.
We believe the role of China and India is very important in thwarting the ever-increasing attempts of the imperialists to create wars of various scales in Asia, as well as in the world. It is a well known fact that the US is fanning up tensions between and among the nations the world over and the relation between India and China is no exception. The neo-cons from Washington are making use of Burma issue to meddle between the two world's most populous nations and the attention of not a few activists of Burma's opposition are caught in this whirlpool.
The main reason for the survival of the military regime of Burma for nearly two decades is not its resilience, but the weaknesses of the opposition. The liberal bourgeois leadership of the present movement, instead of courageously carrying out movements by relying on the masses of our own nation, has been expecting the external pressure from foreign forces, especially the US government, on the junta. Thus they found themselves unprepared and were at a loss with what to do when the monks and masses rolled out in tens of thousands into the streets last September. At present, the people are seething with anger and are resolved to throw themselves in the future upheavals. However, the leadership they have chosen still lacks a concrete political line that would mobilise them boldly and brave through the waves.
In order to tear down a military dictatorship that has been established for more than four decades, we believe that a common minimum programme is needed to act as guidance for the various opposition forces of Burma. The Communist Party of Burma, as a party that has been making all sacrifices to dismantle the military dictatorship in Burma since they got hold of the state power, is trying to assimilate the idea among the participants of the movement. The junta's Road Map would come into effect if we don't have a common minimum programme and go on struggling each on its own. However, the communists shall, no matter whether their Road Map comes into effect or not, will go on mobilising the masses and carry on the fight against the military dictatorship, military government and military cliques in our country.
Lastly, please allow us to express our heartfelt thanks for the support you have given to the cause of the Burmese people to win democracy.
May the Glorious Nineteenth Congress of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) Succeed!
Long Live the Communist Party of India (Marxist)!
Long Live the Long-tested Friendship between the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the Communist Party of Burma!
