MAY I express, to begin with, on behalf of the Central Committee of the Workers Party of the Workers� Party of Korea, heartfelt congratulations to the 19th Congress of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and convey warm comradely greetings to all comrade delegates and membership of your party from their counterparts of the Worker�s Party of Korea.

The 19th Congress of the CPI(M) will sum up the successes and experiences gained during the period under review in the struggle to strengthen the party organisationally and ideologically and defending the interests of the masses of working people and will advance new militant tasks to further solidify party ranks and advance the cause of socialism consistent with new situation.

The CPI(M), since the first days of its founding, has energetically struggled to oppose imperialism and colonialism, realize prosperity of the country and to champion the interests of the masses of working people applying in a creative manner Marxism and Leninism to the actual situation of India and thus scored many achievements In the process, your party, under the complicated situation when anti-socialist moves have become all the more pronounced, has vigorously struggled to maintain revolutionary principle of the working class and safeguard the cause of socialism.

Likewise, your party has developed itself into a powerful political force commanding support of the board popular masses by making active efforts to solidify its ranks and bring about the unity with progressive and democratic forces.

The Workers� Party of Korea takes it is great happiness to have such friends as the CPI(M) in South Asia which remains true to the cause of socialism.

We wish that the whole members of your party could achieve success in an effort to implement the decisions of the 19th Party Congress united behind the leadership of the CPI(M).

Comrades and friends,

Over the last 10 years, US imperialists and reactionary forces have directed the spearhead of anti-socialist moves against our country viciously attempting to hinder our party and moving forward under the uplifted banner of socialism.

Indeed our Party and people have undergone severe trial and hardship in their struggle to safeguard socialism of our own country.

Under such situation, the great leader Comrade Kim Jong II expounded the original revolutionary principle of Songun (Military First), the main point of which is that the army equals party, state and people, for defending our socialism and national dignity and sovereignty and whereby unfolded Songun politics.

Songun politics is a mode of politics that requires that all the problems in revolution and construction be solved on the principle of putting military affairs above everything and the cause of socialism be pushed forward in reliance on the people�s army as pillars of revolution.

Our party and people have advanced with success the cause of socialism even in the face of the heinous anti-socialist moves on the part of the US imperialists and reactionary forces.

We are proud to say that it is in its entirety thanks to the Songun revolutionary leadership of the great Comrade Kim Jong II.

Socialism is a lifeline of our people and the banner of our revolution.

With no maneuvers can the imperialists and reactionaries hamper our people marching towards socialism.

Now our party, army and people, under the outstanding Songun revolutionary leadership of the great leader Comrade Kim Jong II, have turned out in the undertaking to glorify this year which greets the 60th founding anniversary of the Republic as a year of historic turnabout that will be etched in the history of the fatherland.

Our party is full of conviction to boost our economy and the people�s living standards to a high level by relying on the powerful political and military might consolidated in the flames of the Songun revolution and thus widely open the gate of a powerful state without fail in 2012.

Our party and people will persistently wage the fatherland�s reunification movement by holding high the slogan put in this year�s joint editorial, �Let us unite our strength by our nation and open a new era of independent reunification, peace and prosperity� and thereby realise for sure the historic cause of country�s reunification.

In order to do away with the root cause of a war and achieve durable peace in the Korean peninsula, we hold in the strongest terms that the US hostile policy towards Korea be terminated, the armistice agreement be replaced by peace agreement, aggressive joint military exercises and military build-up in South Korea be stopped and all US military bases there be abolished immediately.

Our party and people will never allow any attempt to trespass upon our dignity.

The cause of socialism, an ideal of humanity will come true.

I wish to seize this opportunity to express thanks to the entire members of the CPI(M) for giving unreserved support to the struggle of our party and people to safeguard our socialism and bring about the reunification of the country.

Comrades and friends,

Socialism is the most righteous cause to realize the independence of the masses. It is a truth vindicated by the history that the just cause of the masses will surely win.

Socialism is a science.

The future of humanity lies in socialism and the future is ours.

Our party will further upgrade cooperation and solidarity with the CPI(M) in common struggle for independence and socialism against imperialism.

Long live the friendship and solidarity between the Workers� Party of Korea and the Communist Party of India (Marxist)!
