The 82 year old Comrade Bansidhar Azad was specially invited to the conference for a felicitation.  Talking to the delegates, he suddenly suffered a heart attack and before any medical help could be arranged, he passed away in the arms of the comrades.  Most popular and militant leader of the trade union movement in Malwa, Comrade Azad was the founder leader of CPI(M) in Madhya Pradesh when the Party was formed. He was a founder leader of CITU.  He was unmarried and remained Party state committee member for a long time.  He was relieved due to ill health.
