Brutal Attack On AIAWU Leader In Maharashtra
The All India Agricultural Workers Union joint secretary Suneet Chopra has issued the following statement on November 27
The All India Agricultural Workers Union (AIAWU) condemns the brutal attack on AIAWU general council member and Maharashtra state joint secretary, Rajan Kshirsagar and six leaders of the union, including Sayed and Sabale, at Parbhani on November 26 ,2007 at the Daga’s Ginning press by a criminal employer, Om Prakash Daga and goonda leader Faizal Khan Pathan and others when they were attending negotiations regarding the implementation of the Mathadi Act and minimum wages.
The criminals named above, along with other henchmen, threw chilli powder into their eyes and mercilessly beat them so much so that they had to be shifted to intensive care at a hospital in Aurangabad.
The AIAWU condemns this dastardly attack on its leaders and demands the immediate arrest of Daga, Pathan and others who attacked them.
The AIAWU calls on all the state units to condemn this attack and calls on the Maharashtra chief minister to ensure that the criminals are brought to book immediately.
