CITU Congratulates Govt Employees

And Teachers On Successful Strike

THE Centre of Indian Trade Unions congratulated around one crore state and central government employees and teachers in the country who have participated in the all India strike on October 30 demanding total scrapping of the New Pension Scheme, providing Interim Relief to the central government employees, and asserting the Right to Strike among others.

In a statement issued on October 30, CITU president M K Pandhe said the intensity of the resentment against the New Pension Scheme among the government employees and teachers was clearly evident in the unprecedented response ignoring the threats of vindictive measures including dismissal from service by the government.

The CITU, and many other organisations including those of insurance and bank employees, pensioners’ associations etc actively supported the strike and participated in the demonstrations in several parts of the country.

The CITU demanded the government to immediately accept the demands of the government employees and teachers. It assured the government employees and teachers of its full support and solidarity to any future actions they may be compelled to take to achieve their just demands
