Left Front Approves Of Nayachar Petro-Chem Project
IN an important development, the Bengal Left Front has been unanimous in approving of the state government’s proposal to set up the chemical hub project at Nayachar. The LF has given the Left Front government the green signal to go ahead with the project. Nandigram was the original venue for the project. It could not be gone through there because of the violent intransigence of the opposition in Bengal, especially the Trinamul Congress, the BJP, the Maoists, the SUCI, the Naxalite fractions — and their running mates who were given massive publicity in the corporate media.
The Bengal chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee later announced that the project would be shifted to Nayachar. An all-Party meeting (boycotted by the Trinamul Congress and the SUCI) has already given its stamp of approval to the project.
