CPI(M) Supports JMM Candidate For Jamshedpur By-Election

THE Polit Bureau of the CPI(M), on the suggestion of its Jharkhand state committee, declared support to the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha candidate in the ensuing Jamshedpur parliamentary by-election.

In a statement released on August 7, the CPI(M) Jharkhand state secretary J S Majumdar stated that the Party recognised the fact that former JMM MP Sunil Mahto became a martyr in the hands of the Maoists. The hollowness of their revolutionary credentials became clear when they killed innocent poor and working people even during a recent bandh imposed by them.

The CPI(M) called upon the voters of Jamshedpur parliamentary constituency in particular and the people of Jharkhand in general to give their verdict against the sectarian terrorist politics of the Maoists through votes in favour of JMM candidate and Sunil Mahto’s wife Suman Mahto and get her elected with record margin defeating communal and opportunistic politics and parties who consider this election as an opportunity for them created by the Maoists.
