Shri Chandrasekhar
FORMER prime minister Chandrasekhar breathed his last in the Apollo Hospital of New Delhi on Sunday, July 8, after prolonged cancer affliction. He was 80.
Chandrasekhar was on of the “Young Turks” in the Congress, who had revolted against the Emergency regime in the mid-1970s.
CPI(M) general secretary Prakash Karat and Polit Bureau member, Sitaram Yechury visited the residence of the former prime minister Shri Chandrasekhar to pay homage to him. They placed a wreath on his body on behalf of the CPI(M) Central Committee.
