Protests In Delhi Against ABVP Activists’ Murder Of Professor

TEACHERS and students of Delhi University staged an angry protest outside the Madhya Pradesh Bhawan on September 1 and condemned the murder of Professor H S Sabarwal in Ujjain by goons belonging to the ABVP – the student wing of the BJP. Carrying placards and posters demanding concrete action against the perpetrators of the murderous attack, they also condemned the state police for trying to shield the culprits.

The meeting was organised by the Democratic Teachers Front (DTF) of Delhi University and the Student Federation of India.

After marching to the MP Bhawan, protestors sat on dharna amidst a police barricade calling for an end to Modification of Madhya Pradesh. They also chanted slogans condemning the shameless attempt of the MP chief minister to minimise the crime and publicly defend its perpetrators. Speakers, among whom included Delhi University Student Union activists and DTF activists, castigated all attempts to cover up the crime and spoke of the fascist thinking behind it. They expressed surprise at the three-day reprieve given to the murderers of the professor, before taking action.(INN)
