Bajrang Dal Attack On CPI(M) Meeting Condemned
The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) issued the following statement on August 29, 2006
The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly condemns the Bajrang Dal led attack on a CPI(M) public meeting addressed by Brinda Karat in Rabindra Manch, Raipur on August 28 as part of the national campaign. The men armed with trishuls and lathis burnt Party flags, posters, smashed window panes and attacked volunteers. All this happened in the presence of the police and a senior police officer. No arrests were made. The CPI(M) demands immediate arrest of the miscreants and appropriate action against concerned police officials.
