Nepal Struggle Set To Succeed

 

The following statement was issued by the Nepal Democracy Solidarity Committee after its meeting in New Delhi on April 12, 2006

 

THE Nepal Democracy Solidarity Committee India met today at A K Gopalan Bhawan. It was attended by Sitaram Yechury, D Raja, D P Tripathy, Surendra Mohan, Vijay Pratap, Anil Mishra, Manjoo Mohan, Ravindra Manchanda, Subhas Lomte and Rahul Barua.

 

The Nepal Democracy Solidarity Committee India reiterates its solidarity with the people of Nepal in the ongoing struggle for the restoration of democracy in their country. The Committee congratulated the people of Nepal for resolutely facing repression and unitedly mounting a popular resistance.

 

The Committee reiterates its support to the 12-point agreement arrived at between the seven party alliance and Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) as the roadmap for the restoration of democracy in Nepal. The Committee is confident that this popular upsurge in Nepal, based on the strength of the unity amongst the political parties, will succeed in firmly establishing a democratic set up in Nepal.
