SFI Training Camp For Hindi Speaking States

A three-day training camp for Hindi-speaking states was organised on March 3, 4 and 5 in New Delhi. Former All India SFI President Com. Sitaram Yechuri inaugurated the training camp. Speaking on “The Current Political Situation”, he said that industrial capital had given way to finance capital in the current conjecture. While total trade in goods in the world was only $ 7 trillion, the magnitude of finance capital was 60 times higher to the tune of $ 400 trillion. And this finance capital directly encroaches on the economic sovereignty of any country it goes in the lookout for profits. Using technology to seek more and more profits, many developing countries are experiencing the phenomena of jobless growth where unemployment rates have increased from 5.7 per cent to 9 per cent. Such persistent attacks on the economic sovereignty would also endanger the political sovereignty of these nations. Even the US is facing a serious economic crisis because of which it is resorting to military aggression.

Com. Yechuri said that a strong belief is gaining strength in the developing countries that they can only preserve their interests if they act as junior partners of the imperialist powers and avoid any confrontation with them. In this situation it is essential that the anti-imperialist consciousness be further strengthened among the masses. Maintaining poverty and unemployment is in the interest of imperialism but it reduces the purchasing power of the masses and will adversely affect capitalist development. The student community will also not remain unaffected by such developments.

The struggle of common masses against imperialism and the domestic ruling classes is gaining strength in all developing countries. The previous BJP led NDA government had severely damaged the unity of the working class and the nation as a whole by its communal designs using state power. It is also very essential therefore to strengthen the fight against casteism and communalism. Only the pressure of mass movements can enhance the pressure the Left can exercise within the parliament, Yechury said.

Six classes were taken and they were: (i) Present political situation by Com Sitaram Yechuri (ii) Relation between mass organisation and democratic movement by Com Nilotpal Basu (iii) Caste and Gender Question by Com S. P Kashyap (iv) Path of Indian Revolution by Com Hannan Mollah (v) SFI Programme by Com K.K. Ragesh and (vi) SFI Organisation by Com R. Arun Kumar.

R. Arun Kumar, Albeena Shakil, Ashok Negi, Ritobroto Banarjee,Sanjay Madhav and Alok Gupta presided the successive sessions respectively. Kalpana placed the report of the Credential Committee. 64 delegates participated in the training camp, which concluded on an inspiring note. At the end of the school the delegates opined that all the classes were useful and were well understood. Group discussions and synopsis writing helped in the comrades understanding of the topics. Delegates were also trained in giving speeches and writing leaflets.

24 comrades have expressed their interest in becoming whole timers for the movement. The class composition of the delegates is: Working class-8, poor peasants-9, middle peasants-19, rich peasants-1, middle class employees-20 and business-1     It was felt that these classes would be useful for the growth of our movement in the Hindi speaking states and was decided that all the states should organise state level schools every year. The delegates have also suggested the All India Centre to organise such school every year.
