LF Sweeps Tripura Municipal Elections
The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) issued the following statement on December 19, 2005
THE Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) congratulates the CPI(M) and the Left Front in Tripura for its sweeping victory in the municipal elections. In the Agartala Municipal Corporation, the Left Front has won 30 out of the 35 seats; in the 12 other Nagar Panchayats, in five the Left Front has won all the seats and the opposition Congress nil. The other seven Nagar Panchayats have also registered huge majorities for the CPI(M) and the Left Front.
The people of Tripura have reposed their confidence in the CPI(M) and the Left Front in a decisive manner. The Polit Bureau greets them for this popular victory.
