Bihar Election Results
The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) issued the following statement ON November 22, 2005.
THE assembly elections in Bihar have resulted in a clear victory for the JD(U)-BJP alliance. The division amongst the secular and democratic parties has made a major contribution to this result. The record of the previous RJD-led government had aroused popular discontent which was also utilised by the JD(U)-BJP alliance.
The reasons for the setback in a state which had never given a mandate for an alliance which includes the BJP, must be gone into so that appropriate lessons are drawn.
