SFI
Wins Nanded University Polls
The SFI has won the Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University (Nanded) campus
student council election in Maharashtra for the second time this year.
The SFI city committee member, Shivaji Shinde, has been elected as general
secretary unopposed. The Bhartiya Vidyarthi Sena (BVS) and Nationalist Student
Congress (NSC) could not get even a candidate for the contesting the election on
their behalf, such was the unity of the students against these forces.
The
SFI candidates were also elected as president and secretary in SRTM University
Nanded divisional elections for the first time in Maharashtra. SFI’s Punnu
Pratap Singh was elected as president and Yogiraj Punekar as secretary in the
university division, which includes Nanded, Parbhani, Hingoli and Latur
districts. The success in both these elections has highlighted the strength of
the SFI in the university.
Among those who worked hard and played a key role in ensuring this success
included SFI state president, Avinash Bhosikar, state secretariat member Raju
Sonsale, Nanded district president, Prashant Sabbanwar, vice president, Dr Irfan
Khan, and Somnath Nardile, Ajay Gaikwad, Vinod Jadhav and others.
