CITU Appeals For Quake Relief Collection

THE immense devastation and trauma caused by the recent earthquake that ravaged the Jammu and Kashmir mark an occasion for those in the rest of the country to demonstrate their solidarity with our fellow human beings in the state by mobilising all possible resources to help them.

The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) has therefore appealed to the working people throughout the country to liberally contribute to this cause and called upon its state committees to take immediate steps to collect such contributions and remit the same to the CITU centre. On its part, the CITU centre has sent a sum of Rs one lakh to its Jammu & Kashmir state committee as its initial contribution.

The state committees and federations have also been requested to remit their initial contribution from their funds to the CITU centre while going on with their collection drive.

The collections on this count should be remitted through demand drafts payable to the Centre of Indian Trade Unions, New Delhi. (INN)
