PB Condemns Comrade Ganei’s Killing
The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) issued the following statement on October 17.
THE Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly condemns the killing of Comrade Ghulam Nabi Ganaie, prominent leader of the CPI(M) in Pahalgam district of Jammu & Kashmir. Comrade Ganaie was shot dead outside his house this morning by extremists.
Comrade Ganaie had contested as a candidate for the Party in 2002 Assembly elections from Pahalgam. It is extremely unfortunate that despite requests for adequate security for leaders like Ghulam Nabi Ganaie, the state administration failed to provide it, except for one PSO.
The Polit Bureau urges the Jammu & Kashmir government to immediately provide adequate security to all the key functionaries of the Party. The Polit Bureau conveys its heartfelt condolences to the family of Comrade Ganaie. (INN)
