THE CPI(M) has vastly improved its tally in the elections to local bodies in Andaman and Nicobar islands held recently. It has won one ward in the Port Blair municipal elections and two pradhan posts in direct election to the Andaman and Nicobar panchayats. The Party has also won 28 gram panchayats out of a total of 650.
