BENGAL
CPI(M) has nominated Left Front government small industries and technical
education minister, Bangsa Gopal Chaudhuri to run from Asansol in the
by-election to the Lok Sabha. The
seat fell vacant when Comrade Bikash Chaudhury, the sitting MP, passed away
recently. The by-election would be
held on September 28.
A
student leader of note, Bangsa Gopal Chaudhuri was in the state leadership of
the SFI, having been the general secretary of the Burdwan University Students’
Union, a few years back. He is presently serving the Bengal Left Front
government as the minister-in-charge of technical education and of small-scale
