CPI(M) To Delhi Govt
THE
CPI(M) Delhi state committee has decried the decision of the Congress state
government to pay a subsidy of Rs.93.5 crore to private
power distcoms. This is 50 per cent of the cost of roll back of the 10
per cent hike in tariffs. The grave concern displayed by Shiela Dikshit for the
distcoms, especially for the Reliance owned BSES, is scandalous to say the
least, the Party stated in a press release issued on September 1.
The
entire case of the BSES for hike in tarrifs had been built on fudged figures.
Instead of brining the BSES to book for this perfidy and for reneging on
its side of commitments made at the time of privatisation, the state government
has chosen to subsidise it from the public exchequer.
In
view of this the CPI(M) demanded that the Delhi government must:
Withdraw
subsidy of Rs 93.5 crore to be given to private distcoms.
Make
public all agreements entered into with private distcoms.
Stop
acting as agents of private power distcoms.
