Withdraw Pension Bill, AISGEF Demands

STRONGLY protesting against the pension regulatory & development authority bill, the All India State Government Employees Federation (AISGEF) has demanded its withdrawal. The federation made the demand while giving its oral evidence before the standing committee of finance at New Delhi on June 1.

The federation argued that this bill was against the interests of about two crore central and state government employees, teachers and state PSU employees, it would also play havoc with several crores of family members of these employees who are entitled to family pension. The federation argued that the main purpose of the bill was to snatch away the entire system of pension from the existing employees, the pensioners and new recruits. So the federation demanded total scrapping of the bill. The detailed discussion continued for about one hour.

The AISGEF delegation consisted of its general secretary Sukomal Sen, chairman R G Karnik, vice chairman Ajoy Mukhopadhyay, secretary Lallan Pandey and R Muthusundaram from Tamilnadu. (INN)
