THE new office of the CPI(M) Orissa state committee was inaugurated by the party general secretary, Prakash Karat, at Bhubaneshwar on May 26. Leaders of various parties, like the CPI, CPI(ML), OGP and others, were also present.
The meeting was presided over by Shivaji Patnaik. Addressing the meeting, Prakash Karat reminded the people of the dismal scenario coming up in the name of industrial development. He also referred to the displacement of tribals in the name of development and called for a broad movement against it.
The CPI(M) now has a two-storey building with a variety of necessary facilities. (INN)
