  Resolution On Tsunami Victims

 

The 18th Congress of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) mourns the death of the tens of thousands who died due to the giant tsunami waves that hit India, Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Malaysia. Caused by an earthquake that hit Sumatra in Indonesia the giant tidal waves devastated many parts of South Asia.

 

Thousands of people were killed and many thousands are still untraceable. Entire families and habitants were wiped out in the disaster.

 

The Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Tamilnadu were the worst hit in India. Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Pondicherry also suffered loss of lives and extensive damage along the coastline.

 

The 18th Congress of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) conveys its heartfelt condolences to all those who suffered the loss of their family members and relatives.
