Japanese Communist Party
On the occasion of the 18th Congress of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), we send our heartfelt message of solidarity.
Since we established party-to-party relations in 1981, we have developed exchanges and cooperation based on our common concerns, with the leaders of both parties visiting each other. We are very glad that the Communist Party of India (Marxist), with which we enjoy such close relations, plays a central role among the Left forces and won a big victory in the Lok Sabha election last May. This Congress is being held amidst important political developments with a central government formed by your critical support. We hope that the Congress will greatly contribute to advancing new politics in the interest of the people, building upon the achievements of the Left Front-led Governments in West Bengal and other States.
Now currents of cooperation are sweeping across Asia, Latin America and other regions in opposition to unilateral U.S hegemonism. These currents are aiming at a world order for peace based on the United Nations Charter, and striving for a just international economic order as well as independent economic development.
In Asia, also, new joint efforts are developing. The 3rd International Conference of Asian political parties was held in Beijing last year, where both our parties participated. Eighty-three political parties from 35 countries took part and agreed to "resolv(e) differences through dialogue and negotiation in accordance with the intent and spirit of the Charter of the United Nations, the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and the ten principles of Bandung."
We sincerely hope both parties develop mutual exchanges and cooperation and contribute to building an order for peace and a democratic order in Asia and the world.
