On the occasion o your election in the 18th congress of CPI(M) as general secretary, I wish you, on behalf of the Portuguese communists, the best successes, I also take this opportunity to express to you our conviction that the relations of deep friendship and solidarity between our two parties, for which Comrade Surjeet gave a committed contribution, will certainly develop in the future, in the interest of our both parties and of the international communist and revolutionary movement.
