PB Appeals For Fund Collection
THE
Communist Party of India (Marxist) has decided to collect money for undertaking
urgent relief to the people affected by the huge devastation and loss of life
caused by tidal waves, particularly in the badly affected states of Tamilnadu,
Andaman & Nicobar, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh.
Noting
that a major effort will be required to provide immediate relief to the affected
people and that medicines, clothing and other material will be required, the
Polit Bureau felt that to undertake this mission successfully, funds will be
required.
Accordingly,
it has sent an urgent appeal to all Party units to collect money for such relief
work by the Party. Demand Drafts/Cheques should be drawn on “Communist
Party of India (Marxist)”
It
also noted that rehabilitation measures will also have to be taken up. Apart
from the steps which will be taken up by the Central and state governments, the
Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) has asked all the concerned state Party units to
immediately organise relief measures in the affected areas.
The
Demand Drafts/Cheques must be sent to the following address:
