MORE than five hundred employees and officers from almost all parts of the country staged a day long dharna on December 14 at parliament street under the banner of All India Regional Rural Bank Employees Association (AIRRBEA).
The
dharna was addressed by trade union, federation leaders and members of
parliament, prominent among whom were: Basudeva Acharya, P Madhu, Vinod Kumar,
Pramod Pande (all members of parliament), W R Vardarajan, secretary CITU,
Malkotia, secretary Bank Employees Federation of India etc.
The
major demands of the AIRRBEA on which this struggle is being conducted are:
Amalgamation
of RRBs to form state level RRBs under National Rural Bank.
Total
de-linking of RRBs from sponsor banks.
No
dilution of share of central government of RRBs.
Parity
of superannuation benefits as per Supreme Court direction and Tribunal
Award.
Business-linked
manpower planning and promotion from workman cadre.
Recruitment at the lower cadre.
