PRESIDENT
Chandrika Kumaratunga of Sri Lanka met Sitaram Yechury and Prakash Karat,
members of Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) on November 5 in New Delhi.
President
Kumaratunga invited the CPI(M) leaders for lunch during her visit to Delhi. She
shared her perceptions of the progress in Indo-Sri Lanka relations and the
efforts being made to revive the peace talks with the LTTE in Sri Lanka. The
CPI(M) leaders expressed satisfaction with the many sided progress in bilateral
relations and wished the president success in her efforts to revive the peace
dialogue. Present at the lunch was also the foreign minister of Sri Lanka Laxman
Kadirgamar.
