DYFI Conducts Political School
THE central executive committee of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) organised a three day political school for its leading cadres in south India from September 29 - October 1 at at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram, Hyderabad. Around 150 delegates participated in the school from Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
The school was inaugurated by CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Prakash Karat, who explained the current political situation in the country. He urged the DYFI activists to mobilise wider sections of youth to pressurise the UPA government to fulfill the commitments it made in the CMP. He underlined that the verdict of the people against the BJP-led NDA in the recent elections was for changing the anti-people economic policies and therefore the UPA should keep this in mind while formulating policies.

The
camp also had a half-day workshop on organisation in which the delegates were
divided in to six groups namely:
Membership
and Young Women
Campaign,
Movement & Fund
Committee
Functioning
Multifarious
activities
Education
& Publication
New
Trends and Challenges.
In
these group discussions, delegates from different states exchanged their
experiences in the states and finally suggested new proposals for the
advancement of the organisation. The school concluded on October 1 evening with
the adoption of a resolution calling for striving for the success of November 3
rally of DYFI in Delhi.
