CPI(M) Appeal To Defeat Pappu Yadav
THE
Bihar state secretariat of the Communist Party India (Marxist) welcomed the
decision of the Supreme Court staying the bail granted to Rajesh Ranjan alias
Pappu Yadav, the main accused in the CPI(M) leader, Comrade Ajit Sarkar’s
murder case.
In
a statement issued on October 2 in Patna, the CPI(M) expressed surprise at how
Pappu Yadav managed to get bail in the first place to file his nomination as RJD
candidate in Madhepura. It noted how he used a private aircraft for this purpose
and how he later organised a party with the hardened criminals in Beur jail.
Recalling how defying the court orders Pappu Yadav actively campaigned during
the last Lok Sabha elections, the Party urged the Election Commission to look
into the matter and take appropriate action.
The
Party also appealed to the wise electorate of Madhepura to see through the game
and strengthen democracy, and save politics from criminalisation by defeating
Pappu Yadav. The entire state would benefit if the people of Madhepura exhibit
this act of courage and conviction, felt the CPI(M). (INN)
