AKG & BTR BIRTH ANNIVERSARIES

PB Calls For Ideological Campaign

THE Polit Bureau in its meeting held on September 17, 2004 decided to observe the birth anniversary of A K Gopalan which begins with his birthday on October 1, 2004 and the conclusion of the BTR birth centenary which ends with his birthday on December 19, 2004. Both these leaders made immense contributions to the communist movement in India. To have a befitting observance of their birth centenaries, the Polit Bureau has decided to conduct an ideological campaign.

All state committees have been requested to conduct a one-week campaign at a time suitable to them between October 1 and December 19, cantering around the following issues:

1.  The role of communists in the struggle against British imperialism and the relevance of the anti-imperialist struggle today.

2. How Marxism provides a scientific method to analyse the problems of Indian society and shows the way for ending class and social exploitation.

3. The relevance of socialism in the contemporary world as the only alternative against imperialism and the exploitation and destructive aspects of modern-day capitalism.
