The CITU general council meeting finalised the following countrywide campaign
Countrywide
independent intensive campaign on the following issues:
Scrap
decision of enhancing the FDI cap in insurance, telecom and civil aviation
sectors
Expedite
steps for revival of the sick PSUs which are potentially viable
Scrap
decision on de-reservation of 85 items from the list for small scale sector
Bring
legislation to nullify the Supreme Court judgment on right to strike
Restore
12 per cent interest on EPF
Ensure
employment for all urban and rural unemployed
Enact
legislation for unorganised sector workers ensuring social security; bring
legislation for home-based workers
Strict
implementation of all the statutes for women workers
Comprehensive
legislation for agricultural workers
Review
of Electricity Act 2003 by repealing retrograde provisions
Observance
of a campaign week during August 9-14, 2004 on the above issues through gate
meetings in all workplaces, rallies, street-corner meetings etc.
Observance
of “Anti-Imperialist Day” on September 1, 2004 through countrywide
massive demonstration, rally, procession etc.

workshop for the working women activists at New Delhi on November 18-19,
2004.
